This Healthy Breakfast Muesli Mix Recipe is the easiest thing out and tastes much better than the cereals and muesli's you buy at the supermarket. It is also cheaper than buying a pre-mixed muesli from the health food shop! Make it up on the weekend for a super convenient and nutritious start to the day.
For minimum effort, just add the ingredients to your shopping list so you can pick them up when you do the weekly shop. No point having to make a special trip - we've got much better things to do with the weekend :)
Just remember to buy the best quality ingredients you can afford, to maximise the nutrition and minimise the hidden nasties.
My husband loves this home made Muesli Mix, he usually serves 1 cup of muesli with ½ banana, ¼ cup berries, 1 tbsp. ground flaxseeds and whole milk. He's an avid cyclist, commuting to work 3-4 days a week (20km each way) as well as a quick lunchtime gym session usually twice a week - so he needs plenty of fuel to keep him going.
I prefer a variation on the muesli recipe as my body doesn’t tolerate oats well. I usually make a quick chia pudding and then add the fruit, nuts, seeds and ground flaxseed on top.
If there are ingredients you're not keen on, feel free to swap them with something similar that you do like.
